Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to Terelj National Park. This park is famous for its massive granite formations, including Turtle Rock, the giant Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue, forests, high mountains, and over 650 species of plants and colorful wildflowers. On this day, you will enjoy horseback riding in the beautiful natural surroundings. After dinner, you will rest at the tourist camp.
After breakfast, visit Turtle Rock, the Aryabal Meditation Temple, and the Cave of 1,000 Lamas. Later, continue to the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue Complex, a 40-meter-high monument made of 250 tons of stainless steel. From the horse’s mane platform, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. Overnight at the tourist camp.
After breakfast, travel to Khustai National Park, famous for reintroducing the endangered Takhi (Przewalski’s horse). The park is home to deer, gazelles, wild boars, over 450 medicinal plants, and 126 bird species. You will experience Mongolian traditions and try archery, one of the three traditional manly sports of Mongolia. Overnight at the tourist camp.
After breakfast, begin your city tour by visiting Sukhbaatar Square, the main square surrounded by monuments and government buildings. Continue to Gandan Monastery, the center of Mongolian Buddhism, where you will see the 24-meter gold-covered Buddha statue. Then visit Zaisan Hill for a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar, especially beautiful at sunset. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Mongolian restaurant and overnight at a hotel.
